Last year I spent the Spring Festival with my host family, which left a strong impression on me.

The Spring Festival falls on the first day of the first lunar month. Colourful lanterns were hung at the gate and the

couplets were posted on the door.

On the eve of the new year, people went back to hometown from everywhere for the big family reunion dinner, no

matter how far the distance was. After the meal, we watched TV until the clock struck 12. Then we set off long string

of small firecrackers and other fireworks to welcome the new year.

The experience not only made me understand the Chinese traditional culture much better, but also let me feel the

unique beauty of it, so I will value it forever.
